Classes

Small group sessions in the park and in the studio. Turn up, follow along, go home with something you can keep doing on your own.

Group Practice

Learning it, rather than receiving it

Hands-on work changes something in an hour. A practice keeps it changed. The classes teach the breathing and the slow movement that sit behind the bodywork — the same material, in a form you can repeat at home without anyone standing over you.

Nobody is asked to bend into anything. Sessions are slow, mostly standing, and every sequence has a seated version. If you can walk to the park you can do the class.

Weekly Classes

What’s running

No booking system and no term fees — turn up, or send a message first if you would rather ask something.

  • Where: Timbrell Park, Five Dock

  • Where: Studio, Suite 2, 47 Ramsay Road
  • How long: 1 hour
  • Cost: $00 per session

In the works

  • A Saturday morning class in Balmain
  • Seated sequences for anyone who cannot stand for an hour
  • An occasional half-day workshop

Before You Come

What to bring

Not much. Everything else is provided or unnecessary.

Clothes you can move and breathe in — no activewear required
Water
A mat if you have one, for the park class
Please skip strong fragrance — the room is small and shared

Turning up five minutes early is enough. There is nothing to fill in and nobody will single you out.

Is this yoga?

No. There are no held postures and no floor sequences. It is slow standing movement matched to the breath, which looks less impressive and is considerably easier on the joints.

I am not flexible and not fit. Does that matter?

No. Nothing in the class depends on either. Most people who come are stiff — that is generally why they came.

Do I have to commit to a term?

No. Pay for the session you attend and come back when it suits. There is no term, no membership and no pack of ten to buy.

Can I come if I am having hands-on sessions too?

That is the combination that works best. The bodywork opens something up and the practice keeps it open between visits.

Something else? Ask before you come rather than wondering on the way.
