Taoist Bodywork · Sydney

Old hands, quiet room, and time to actually work.

Tui na, meridian acupressure and the breathing practices that go with them — applied slowly, to one person at a time. No packages, no upsell, no rush.

  • Hands-on, one practitioner start to finish
  • 60 and 90 minute sessions, never shortened
  • Traditional method, explained in plain English

The Approach

Working with the body, not against it

Taoist bodywork starts from a simple observation: tension is rarely where it hurts. A tight shoulder is usually the end of a chain that runs somewhere else entirely. So the first part of any session is finding that chain.

From there the work is slow and specific — pressure held along the meridians, joints mobilised rather than forced, and breathing used to let the body release on its own terms. Nothing is done to you faster than you can follow.

Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished. Lao Tzu

Who It Helps

This may be worth a look if…

Most people arrive with one of these. You don't need a diagnosis to book — describing it in your own words is enough.

Your neck and shoulders have been tight for months and stretching isn't touching it
You sit at a desk all day and your lower back has started to complain
You sleep badly, or wake up feeling like you never went under
You're wound up in a way that a day off doesn't fix
Old injuries have quietly changed how you stand and move
You've tried deep tissue and found it effective but exhausting

Not sure which of these fits? Send a short message describing it and we'll tell you honestly whether this is the right thing.

Your Practitioner

Wei-Lin Chen

Taoist Bodywork Practitioner

Wei-Lin trained in tui na and internal practice in Chengdu over nine years before moving to Sydney in 2011, and has been treating out of the same room in Five Dock since 2014. Most of the people who come through it were sent by someone who had already been.

The work is unhurried on purpose. One client at a time, no double-booking, and an honest answer if bodywork isn't the right thing for what you've got.

  • Diploma of Remedial Massage — Sydney Institute of Health Sciences
